By using Finesse, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. Service Description

2.1 What We Provide

Finesse is a communication coaching tool that helps you:

Analyze profile screenshots and generate opening messages
Analyze text messages and generate reply suggestions
Record and analyze voice delivery for coaching feedback
Understand social dynamics
Build conversation skills through structured exercises

2.2 What We Are NOT

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS:

Finesse is NOT:

A mental health service
Therapy, counseling, or psychological treatment
Medical advice or diagnosis
A substitute for professional help
Emergency support or crisis intervention

2.3 Intended Use

This service is intended for improving communication skills, understanding social dynamics, practicing response strategies, and building conversational confidence.

3. Account Requirements

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old
You must provide accurate account information
One account per person

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for your password
Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
We are not liable for unauthorized account use

4. Subscription Terms

4.1 Free Tier

1 analysis per day
3 reply suggestions per analysis

4.3 Billing

Billed monthly through the Apple App Store
Prices in USD (may vary by region)
Subscription auto-renews unless canceled

4.4 Cancellation

Cancel anytime through your Apple ID subscription settings
Cancellation takes effect at end of current billing period
No refunds for partial months
Access continues until period ends

4.5 Price Changes

We may change prices with 30 days notice
Current subscribers grandfathered at current rate for 90 days
Cancel before price increase takes effect if you don't agree

4.6 Fair Use and Service Limits

Pro subscribers enjoy generous usage limits for all AI-powered features. To maintain service quality for all users, if your AI usage exceeds our fair-use threshold during a billing period, we may temporarily reduce your rate limits to standard levels until your next billing cycle begins. You retain access to all other Pro features during this period, including enhanced suggestions, explanations, and your full dossier. Rate limits reset automatically with each new billing period.

5. Acceptable Use

5.1 You May NOT Use This Service For:

Harassment, stalking, or manipulation
Illegal activities
Impersonation or fraud
Automated/bot access
Scraping or data mining
Harmful or abusive content
Violating others' privacy or rights

5.2 Consequences of Violation

Account suspension or termination
No refund for paid subscriptions
Legal action if necessary

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

App design, code, and branding are our property
AI analysis methodology is proprietary
You may not copy, modify, or redistribute

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of your screenshots, conversations, and voice recordings
You grant us license to process/analyze for service purposes
We do not claim ownership of your data

7. AI-Generated Content

7.1 Nature of Suggestions

Reply suggestions, coaching feedback, voice delivery analysis, and dossier insights are AI-generated
Not guaranteed to be accurate or appropriate
Use your judgment before acting on any suggestion

7.2 Your Responsibility

Review suggestions before using
Adapt to your communication style
We are not liable for consequences of using suggestions

8. Voice Recordings

8.1 Consent

By using Voice Coach or voice-to-text input features, you consent to:

Your audio being recorded and uploaded to our servers
Your audio being sent to OpenAI for transcription and analysis
Storage of your recordings and transcripts on our infrastructure

8.2 Your Responsibility

Only record your own voice — do not record other people without their consent
Do not submit recordings containing sensitive or illegal content
You may delete any voice recording by deleting the associated interaction

9. People Dossier

9.1 Third-Party Information

The Dossier feature lets you store information about people you communicate with (name, role, notes, goals, communication style, and red flags). You are solely responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of any information you enter about other individuals.

9.2 AI-Generated Insights

We automatically generate behavioral insights from your linked interactions with each person. These AI observations are stored in the dossier (up to 15 per person) and are used to improve the quality of suggestions you receive. AI insights are not guaranteed to be accurate — use your own judgment.

9.3 Your Obligations

Do not use the Dossier to store sensitive personal data (health information, financial details, government IDs) about others
Do not use the Dossier to facilitate harassment, stalking, or manipulation
You are responsible for complying with any applicable privacy laws regarding information you store about others

10. Sharing Features

10.1 What You Can Share

The app lets you create branded share cards displaying:

Scores, accuracy, and XP from coaching exercises
Achievement names and descriptions
Aggregate stats (level, streak, lessons completed)
Truncated AI-generated insights (capped at 280 characters)

10.2 What Is NOT Shared

Share cards are designed to exclude:

Raw conversation text or screenshots you submitted
Other people's messages, names, or identifiers
Your account email, user ID, or profile details

10.3 Your Responsibility

You choose when and where to share. The app presents your device's native share sheet — we do not post on your behalf.
Review the share card image before sending it to any platform.
You are responsible for any content you distribute via third-party services (social media, messaging apps, etc.).

10.4 Prohibited Uses

You may not use share cards to:

Harass, bully, or embarrass others
Misrepresent your identity or results
Distribute share cards modified to impersonate the service

11. Push Notifications

We may send push notifications for streak reminders, milestone celebrations, and service updates
You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings
We store your push notification token solely for delivery purposes

13. Disclaimers and Limitations

13.1 Service Availability

Provided "as is" without warranties
May have downtime or interruptions
Features may change without notice

13.2 Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages
Maximum liability: Amount you paid in last 12 months
Some jurisdictions don't allow limitations (your rights may vary)

13.3 No Professional Advice

Suggestions are for informational purposes only
Not professional, legal, or medical advice

14. Termination

14.1 By You

Delete account anytime through Settings
Data deleted permanently within 30 days

14.2 By Us

We may terminate accounts for violations
We may discontinue service with 30 days notice

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms with notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes require explicit consent.

16. Governing Law

Governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Disputes resolved in the courts of Delaware. You agree to attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation before litigation.
